Mattress Care Guide

A mattress lasts longer, and feels better, when you treat it right. These simple habits protect your comfort, preserve support, and keep your warranty valid.

1. Rotate on a schedule

Rotating prevents deep body impressions and keeps the surface feeling even. Turn your mattress 180 degrees, head to foot:

  • First six months: every two weeks
  • After that: every two to three months
  • Always rotate with a partner to avoid injury: push from opposite corners, turn, and reset

2. Keep it clean

Cleanliness isn’t just about hygiene. Stains can void your warranty.

  • Always use a waterproof mattress protector
  • Wash bedding regularly
  • Avoid eating or drinking in bed
  • Address spills right away with gentle blotting; never soak the mattress

3. Support it properly

Your mattress needs the right foundation to prevent sagging and damage.

  • Queen and King beds must have a rigid center support that reaches the floor
  • Avoid flimsy frames or slats that flex
  • Never lift the mattress by its handles; they’re for positioning only

4. Avoid common damage

These can shorten the life of your mattress or void your warranty:

  • Stains, spills, and bodily fluids
  • Burns or smoke exposure
  • Jumping or standing on the mattress
  • Commercial or rental use
  • Improper reassembly after moving
  • Pets scratching or chewing the fabric

5. Know what’s normal

Some changes happen naturally over time and aren’t defects, though rotation helps minimize them:

  • Slight softening of foam
  • Minor surface impressions; up to 1.5 inches is considered normal
  • Normal wear from daily use
